LAEF Funds an Excellent Education for Every Child
LAEF has pledged to raise $4.35 million in 2026-27 to fund Specialized Teachers & Staff and Instructional Programs & Materials for all students in the Los Altos School District (LASD).
Donations to LAEF help the district deliver a high-quality, well-rounded learning experience for all TK-8 students.
New this year! The LASD Education Partners - LASD, LAEF, and each school's PTA - realigned areas of responsibility. $900,000 in fundraising for instructional programs and materials has shifted from PTAs to LAEF, while LASD will take on oversight of these programs to ensure consistent, high-quality implementation across all schools. This change provides more consistent and reliable support for critical programs while allowing PTAs to focus on building community and enriching the student experience.
LAEF helps fill the gap in school funding from federal, state, and local sources. Your student, and every student in our seven elementary schools and two junior high schools, will benefit.
The following shows the LAEF-funded teachers, programs, and materials in 2026-27.

Funds raised for this school year above the annual goal, net of expenses, were provided as an additional grant to the Los Altos School District, allocated across the programs listed above. For the 2025-26 school year, LAEF was able to provide LASD with a $350,000 additional grant for these programs (included in the allocations above).
LASD receives funding from various sources, including property taxes, parcel taxes, LAEF, and other local sources, to fully support these programs. LAEF's annual grant allocation for the elementary and junior high schools is proportional to student enrollment.
