LAEF Funds an Excellent Education for Every Child
LAEF has pledged to raise $2.9 Million in 2023-24 to fund teachers and essential programs for all students in the Los Altos School District (LASD).
Donations to LAEF help the district deliver a high-quality, well-rounded learning experience for all TK-8 students by funding teachers and essential programs for STEM*, Wellness, Literacy, and Arts. This school year, we are funding computer science, mental health counseling, librarians, music teachers, the Art Docents Program, the STEM program, elementary school physical education (PE), and junior high electives. In addition, we have provided an Innovation Grant to the district, enabling the addition of new junior high electives. LAEF’s funding priorities are based on feedback from our annual parent survey and strategic sessions with the school district.
Your student and every student in our seven elementary schools and two junior high schools will benefit. LAEF helps fill the gap in school funding from federal, state, and local sources and is the only way for parents to fund LASD teaching staff in our district.
LAEF is also proud to co-sponsor the MVLA Parent Education Speaker Series.
We need your help to reach our $2.9M goal for the 2023-24 school year!
Parents are encouraged to donate $1,400 per student or $700/month per student for 2 months, which is the end of the school year. Gifts of any amount are appreciated. Increase your impact by submitting for a corporate match. Donate today.
Let's come together to provide an excellent education for all students in our district. Please support our schools this year.
LAEF FUNDING OVERVIEW
For the 2023-24 school year, we will be making a grant of $2,600,000 to the district. The remaining $300,000 will fund LAEF expenses such as office staff, credit card processing fees, postage, communications, audit, and tax returns. The grant breakdown is as follows:
LAEF FUNDING BY PROGRAM
This year's flexible grant allows the district to make adjustments within the program categories as needed due to changing educational needs.
LAEF's Grant distribution for the elementary and junior high schools is proportional to student enrollment.
LASD provides an additional $1,807,000 (40% of the total cost) to fund these programs.
